The Azienda agricola La Taragna, which takes its name from the creek that runs along the valley floor and which corresponds to the property boundary, was founded more than 30 years ago, though only recently it has started its selective business activity, initially dedicated to the sale of oil only, the company’s historical product.
La Taragna is located in the countryside of the Sienese hills, in the municipality of Cetona, at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, amongst oaks, turkey oak forests and olive groves. It covers a total area of 25 hectares, of which 7 hectares are planted with 1,700 olive trees, both centuries old and young.
The farm
The farm is close the town of Cetona, on the slopes of the mountain that carries the same name, in a very interesting area in terms of landscape, naturally suited to the cultivation of olives, both for its agronomic and pedoclimatic characteristics of the soil.
About ten years ago, the farm was initially enlarged with the purchase of a vineyard neighbouring the original land and later a large piece of land on which two vines were planted for the independent production of all the grape varieties necessary for the making of the farm’s wines.
The new vineyards, covering more than two hectares, have an extraordinary exposure to sunshine all year round.
Since the early 1990s, the Farm has been owned by the Romiti family, who have turned it into their favourite place to gather for the holidays.
We have focused on our oil production to obtain an extraordinary product in terms of quality, balance and taste.
The wine, on the other hand, is a more recent product that has quickly achieved excellent quality standards and appreciation from consumers.
Our oil and wine are the result of great dedication and passion for nature.
The love for Tuscany has given new life to La Taragna, which produces all its products with the only aim of achieving quality excellence.
